Activities
Although our primary focus at Whisperwood is maine-ly fishing, this is also a great place for those of you who just want to get away from it all. Relax and enjoy yourself in the peaceful atmosphere that we have to offer.
Activities that you may enjoy while staying with us.

Enjoy
the use of our Recreation Hall,
with such activities as table tennis, billiards,
darts, air hockey, and video arcade games. There are also tables
available for card and board games.

Arrangements can be made for full or half day
Guided Trips to explore the area and participate in such activities
as: Fishing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Hiking, or Bird and
Wildlife Watching. If you are thinking of using a
Maine Guide, please try to make arrangement with us before your
arrival. |

All guests have free use
of canoe, paddleboat,
kayaks and swimming area with our new swim float.
|
|
|
Feel free to use our horseshoe court and fireplace
located next to the waterfront. |

|
We normally provide one Barbeque style meal served outside next to the waterfront during July and August if you are here during a weekend. (Weather permitting)

|
Motor boats
are available to rent for use on Salmon Lake. Be sure to take your fishing pole
because
"Bubba"
the big Bass is waiting for your lure to swim by.

|
Kayaks
are also available for use on Salmon Lake, try a leisurely paddle up the lake to watch the sunset.

|
Hiking
- there are a number of hiking trails in the area for those of you who enjoy a peaceful walk on a country trail. |

Golf - there are two beautiful 18 hole golf courses within a 10-minute drive of our place. Spend the morning playing golf and the afternoon fishing!!! |

Shopping
- visit Freeport, the home of L.L. Bean and other brand name factory outlets.
|
|
|
Day trips to the coast of Maine, only approximately an hour away from our location.
|
|
|
Search for antiques. Maine is full of local antique shops, you will find many in this area.
|

|
County Fairs
- there are a number of county fairs going on throughout the summer months in the state of Maine. The Common Ground Fair and the Skowhegan State Fair are just two of the most popular ones within our area.

Summer Theaters
- central Maine's own Lakewood Theater is one of the oldest continually running Summer Theaters in the country and is worth a visit if you are looking for a night out.

|
Try picking up that book you have been wanting to read for awhile now. There is also a small selection of books located in our lodge.

and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that Whisperwood has to offer. |
