Area Attractions
If you can get the kids out of the water
or the "big kids" out of the boat, there are lots
of things to do and see in the area.

We are in Central Maine. Look for things in or around Kennebec and Somerset Counties.

Arrangements can be made for full or half day
Guided Trips to explore the area and participate in such activities
as: Fishing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Hiking, or Bird and
Wildlife Watching. If you are thinking of using a

arrival.
Get
Real Maine lists lots of Agricultural
stuff. Pick your own berries, apples, etc. depending on what's in season.

If you like to shop, we're close to that too. There's new stores going in both
Waterville
and Augusta, plenty of choices, and of course, there's lots of
wildlife to watch.
If you enjoy Hiking there are a number of choices locally. Two great
places close by are
the
Kennebec Highland is a 15
minute drive away and
Mt Blue State Park is about 45 minute ride from Whisperwood.
Day trips visiting Maine’s Rocky Coast with its Beaches & Lighthouses, is a 1.5
hour drive from Whisperwood.
A visit to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park
is about a 2.5 hour
drive.
There are two beautiful Golf Courses within a 10 to 15 minute drive of our
location.
They are
Natanis Golf Course and Belgrade
Lakes Golf Course.
Take the family out to Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream Shop to enjoy some Ice Cream
and play a round of Miniature Golf or try your luck in their Baseball Batting
Cages.
A day trip to Fun Town Splash Town U.S.A. Northern New England’s largest family
Theme Amusement & Water Park is 2 hour ride from Whisperwood.
If you would like to take in a movie, there are two Movie Cinemas close by, one
in Waterville, a 10 minute drive and
Augusta a 20 minute drive from our
location.
If the Live Theater is something that you enjoy! Try a night out at one of the
three theaters in the area: The Lakewood Theater is one of the oldest
continually running Summer Theaters in the country.
The Theater at Monmouth has
a long running history of great summer shows.
The Waterville Opera House also
provides a good schedule of shows throughout the year.
If you enjoy visiting American Historic Landmarks try
Old Fort Western, built
1754 it is America’s oldest surviving wooden fort. It is located on the Kennebec
River in Augusta which is Maine’s Capital City located 15 miles southeast of Whisperwood.
